I cannot log in to MSN and also cannot do Windows Updates

Unfortunately, because your system was infected on the day that you restored back to, you've reintroduced the infections in the course of trying to fix the other problems.

Please repeat the instructions I gave in my last post. If removing the items I indicated causes other problems, that means that something has been damaged by the infections and needs to be fixed, but if you try to do that just by using System Restore you will again restore the infections.

Is it still infected? Suprising as I am not facing any problems. No popup's no hijacking nothing at all.
Ok if I do the steps again and then I start facing problems like not getting access to websites. Is there a way to fix it? Coz or else I willface the same problem.

The Restore at least brought back the entries in your Registry that were created by the infections; whether or not they brought back the infections themselves or not might be a different story.


Repeat these steps again:

1. Have HijackThis fix:

2. Open Windows Explorer, and in the Folder Options->View settings under the Tools menu, select "show hidden files and folders", and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and "Hide extentions for known file types".

Search for and delete DLHelperEXE.exe.


3. Empty your Recycle Bin, reboot, run HJT again, and post a new log.


If you don't find DLHelperEXE.exe this time, then it's probably only the Registry entries that got restored and not the malicious file itself. Either way, repeat the steps again and give us a progress report after that.

In the search I am just getting the backup that hijackthis creates are deleting the not the file itelf. backup....DLHelperExe.exe
