As you can see from these requirements,Mac OS X generally supports hardware several
years older than the latest version ofthe operating system.However,older versions ofMac
OS X do not support hardware that is newer than when the operating system was released.
In other words,you may come across a Macintosh that’s newer than the Mac OS X instal-
lation disc you’re trying to use.Ifthis is the case,the installation disc will fail to boot or
refuse to install the older operating system.
