Well, first thing, install make and gcc and other tools needed for compiling
Then you can do make and make install to install software from source code (remember to read the INSTALL file!!!)
sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install build-essential
Then you can do make and make install to install software from source code (remember to read the INSTALL file!!!)
