Flicker in Gateway Notebook Monitor

I have a Gateway 450ROG notebook and for some reason have a flicker in the monitor when the brightness is set to a low level. The flicker is never present when the brightness is set at a high level. The flicker only occurs when I actually move the monitor, so I am reasonably sure that the problem is related to the connection between the base and the monitor.

Does anyone have any ideas for a quick fix or what specifically might be causing the problem.

Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give.

If it's a fluorescent backlight, the lamp is nearing the end of its life.

You see it more if the screen is moving relative to your eyes.

I agree. I've seen issues like this before with flickering. It will eventually get worse and worse to the point that it will no longer be lite at all. Pray for longevity or start looking for a used/refurb screen to replace it with.
Don't worry! I think I know what I'm doing! :-|
