Hi guys, I have had this problem for a long time now..and after weeks of trying to fix it myself, i decided to look around for help.....and that's when i came across this forum, alot of help offered seem to be very good here, so i am here to see if anyone can help me :o
Let me start off by saying that I am an idiot with computers and technical jargon....I dont' mean to cause any trouble, but please keep your solutions simple enough so someone like me can understand :mrgreen:

Okay, for a while, almost all of the sites i try to access gave me this 'cannot find server or DNS error'.....ive done a few things, and seem to have made things a little better......but there are still a couple of sites that i like to visit frequently that are still coming up with the problem.....
one of these examples being "www.theotaku.com"

Following the advice from posts i have read, this is a summary of the log from that hijack this programme, any help will be very very much appreciated~
Again thank you all for your time in advance!

Hi lemurianprince, welcome to DaniWeb

I've moved your thread to the Virus forum as that is the only place HijackThis log are allowed to be posted.

For every User listed under C:\Documents and Settings, delete the entire contents of these folders (not the folders themselves):

Local Settings\Temp
Cookies
History
Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

Delete the entire contents of your C:\Windows\Temp folder.

Delete the entire contents of your C:\Temp folder (if you have one).

Do a search for *.tmp and delete all entries found.

(Note: if any of these temporary files cannot be deleted while in ‘normal mode,’ try Safe Mode.

Empty your Recycle Bin.

Run a at least two of these free online anti-virus/anti-spyware scans and have them clean what they can:

Hi, thanks for your help, I did everything you asked me to...at least followed the instructions to the best of my knowledge...
I deleted everything that came up in the search.....although there were four things that wouldn't delete even in safe mode...i forget what they're called tho
I'm not sure whether I followed your instructions correctly though.
I pressed start, went to 'find' chose 'files and folders' searched for everything containing .tmp......i got over one hundred and fifty hits......after deleting everything i could, i rebooted the computer.......what's strange is, I have ALOT of error messages that pop up on start up now......is that supposed to be normal????? Or did I do something wrong and totally screwed my computer up???? Anyway, everything seems to be working alright right now...can't tell yet......

anyway, here's the new hijack log, by the way, thank you for your help! :p

You have a few things there that need removing...

===============

Run HiJackThis, click "Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Jammer2nd] C:\WINDOWS\Jammer2nd.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [dqlyl] C:\WINDOWS\dqlyl.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ClockSync] C:\PROGRA~1\CLOCKS~1\Sync.exe /q

O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://software-dl.real.com/084081b...ip/RdxIE601.cab

Now, with all windows closed except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".

===============

Locate and delete the following item(s), if present. Make sure your able to view system and hidden files/ folders:

folders...

C:\PROGRA~1\CLOCKS~1

files...

C:\WINDOWS\Jammer2nd.exe
C:\WINDOWS\dqlyl.exe

-

Note that some of these file(s)/folder(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're 'in use', try deleting them in "Safe Mode".

-

Reboot.

===============

To help protect your system from hostile ActiveX content, or special 'downloadable' files:

Download, install and keep updated, SpywareBlaster. If you've installed it for the first time:

1) Check for any available updates; if present, they'll be automatically downloaded and installed.
2) Next, "Enable all protection".
3) Exit the program.

-

Note: Remember to regularly check for updates.

===============

After rebooting, rescan with hijackthis and post back a new log. Let me know how everything goes.

You may want to go here http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dl...shtml?setupapi and download the missing dll file.
What is this; O4 - Startup: install.lnk = D:\APPS\install.exe
Is 'D' your CDRom drive? If so, there should be a CD in there for this link to work.

I would say yes, but I do not know what. Who created the shortcut? I would just remove the shortcut from C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

hey crunchie.....I thank you for all the help, I donno who created it, but at least I think my computer is in alot better condition now, I can't detect anymore adware/spyware with scanners, no more random crashes, computer seems to be running smoother than ever.....however, the original problem of mine still remains.....

I still have trouble accessing one specific website.....
I keep getting cannot find server or DNS error message when I try to access it.....sometimes, the site semi loads...for example, most of the text loads, but no picture or frames load.....if i try clicking any sort of link, they bring me back to that error message...if i try to type the url, i sometimes get redirected to a msn search thing saying the address can't be found......but strangely, on some days, the site mysteriously works perfectly for like an hour before falling apart again.....I know it's not the site server, because my friends have no difficulty accessing it anytime they wish......it's strange.....do you know what might be causing my problem? or of any solutions????

Try clearing out your cache and cookies first. You may lose some passwords by clearing the cookies, so make sure you know them first .

Try running IEFIX.htm which will repair IE and run a System File Check.
