Hi crab,
software diagnostics programs are VERY frequently incorrect. Get another program & re-check the fsb before you jump to any conclusions. Also do a complete RAM benchmark "burn in" test to see if you memory might be slowing down the fsb (ie bad memory),
Hope this helps

Your cpu is fine. CPU-Z also shows me my FSB (800) in Bus speed. I've never thought of finding what the Bus Speed, 200mhz in your case, means.

For the RAM, it is really 200mhz but since it is DDR (Double Data Rate), we double it to make it 400mhz effectively. Like mine shows 266mhz but is really 533mhz (DDR2).

hi,
thanx for ur answer. ive identified the problem. the system is just fine.....my interpretation was wrong! fsb 199mhz has to be multiplied with the multiplier(x15 given in the cpu screen shot that i sent)....so, 199.7 x 15 = 3000mhz which is the cpu speed. bus speed has to be multiplied with 4(why:- i dunno!) to get 800mhz.

thanx again

kind regards
omw
