Summary:

Leads and participates in the detail design, construction, and implementation of software products that meet established specifications, design criteria, quality standards and business requirements. Primary focus is on timely and efficient construction, integration, and system testing of our proprietary products to ensure that our products are ready for general distribution. Mentors other developers and collaborates with the business and management stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Provides guidance to matrix teams of 2-3 developers designing and developing applications, modules, or enhancements using N-tier technology C#, Web Services, ASP.NET and VB.NET. Will be responsible for designing applications; systems based upon business requirements documentation and architectural designs. Provides assistance in code construction but no more than 50% of the time.

Required Skills and Experience.
" Requires 5-7+ years in a Senior or Team Lead position.
" Requires 6-8 years developing database applications.
" Requires 4+ years design and analysis experience using .NET.
" Requires 3+ years experience with T-SQL specifically using SQL Server.
" 5+ years with object oriented programming.
" Work with less experienced developers to help guide and train them.
" Ability to work with more experienced developers and architects to learn and grow and extend their own skills.

Additional Skills Desired.
" Microsoft certification(s)
" Leadership training

Supplemental Responsibilities:
Participates with and supports other departments (PM, BA, QA, IT) as needed and requested. Collaborates with channel management on priority, scheduling, and resource needs/utilization estimates.

Supervision:
Reports to Director of Software Development. Carries out mentor responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and philosophy. Promotes positive morale in group development efforts. May assist supervisory staff in interviewing and selecting personnel. Maintains continual safety awareness.

Problem Solving and Judgment:
Assignments are received as broad objectives. Provides leadership to define methods and means to achieve objectives. Continually monitors effectiveness of established procedures and processes. Ensures that changes are made as necessary and in anticipation of problem-avoidance as well as problem resolution. Seeks new solutions to recurring problems and experiments with applications, recommending product modifications and enhancements. Responsibilities may involve several overlapping areas that require simultaneous attention. Provides early identification and notification of items that may jeopardize successful completion of project.

Qualifications:
Typically has a BS in Computer Science and at least seven (7) years related experience, at least five (5) of which involve mentoring of employees and guiding technical projects. Two or more years in a web based multi tier application development environment is desired.
Understands the concept of accomplishing goals through individual and team contribution and achieves objectives through effective leadership and planning.

Weighs alternative directions and solutions, suggests changes compatible with existing procedures and practices. Recognizes need to change procedures and practices and prepares and presents recommendations.
Successfully manages multiple activities simultaneously, generally toward common goals. May multi-task on projects that have related but not common goals, and use the same or other matrixed resources.
Has solid conceptualization skills and ability to reason abstractly at a high level of problem identification and resolution. Has ability to quantify and communicate risk factors to upper management, while also communicating the impact of quality, documentation, standards and practices, etc. to team members.

Exhibits good written and spoken communication skills. Interfaces well with personnel at all levels of the organization. Gains acceptance of others and persuades them of appropriate actions, even in sensitive situations. Provides input to standards, process, and works with other groups to define project architecture, timeframes, and quality metrics.
Performs all responsibilities and tasks at a satisfactory level.
