Patriot. Which one are you running this log from? Now showing 2 instances of hijackthis running. One still in temp and the one you moved it too
.
===============
Run HiJackThis, click "Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present:
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://srch-us5.hpwis.com/

O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler V3.exe
O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler.exe
Now, with all windows closed (including Internet Explorer) except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".
===============
After rebooting, rescan with hijackthis and post back a new log. Let me know how everything goes.
That is all I can see there.

What about this entry in the log, is it ok:
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://us5.hpwis.com/
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://us5.hpwis.com/
If it wasn't, I would have included it
. If you do not want it there, you can just fix it with hijackthis.
Are you still having problems?

I have uninstalled Ad Aware and will try reinstalling it.
Curious, by looking at the scan log, how do you know which files are suppose to be there and which are suspicious or maleware?? is there a site I can go to to learn them or is it just from tons of experience that you know all this??
thanks for you help, I really appreicate it.

Adwatch is known for inserting bad entries after you have removed them. Best bet is to uninstall and then fix whatever with hijackthis, then reinstall Adwatch/Adaware.
I have been doing this for about 18 months now, so you get a pretty good feel for what is good/bad. "Tomcoyote" forums and "malware removal" forums both have schools running if you want to learn how to remove spy/mal/adware.
