formatting data for export

I hope somebody can help me convert some data from excel to a data base. Basically, I copied some data to an excel spreadsheet in this format:

John Smith
123 Stone Lane
New York, NY 12345
(212) 123-1234

Jane Smith
etc.

All in one column. I have tried the text to column under data tab but it doesn´t want to do anything. I´m just trying to get the four lines to convert to 6 columns. In the end, I want to delimit all of the entries of four lines each into a 6 field format I can export to ACT.

Win2Kpro and Act 2000

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated,
zeroth
