Is novell downloadable like linux or unix is like if I went to novell.com can you download it or do you have to buy it in the store like windows? thank you for your help

You can "obtain" Novell, but using that server/client software is effectively like shooting yourself in the foot. It's a not an intelligent idea, and will cause you nothing but pain.

The clients are free...the services those clients connect to on a server are not free.

edit: I'm only editing this because while I'm sure Netware is just fine and dandy, but having it as your first real server would be nothing but trouble. That, and it's uber-expensive.

Novell server is a paid system and is rather expensive, its not for the home user either

it took me about 9 months to learn novell fairly well and im still not very advance in it
