My friend's machine was behaving madly since last few weeks. The machine was restarting or shutting down very suddenly & without any user interaction. He wanted help from me. So, I have checked the machine & I have found that the SMPS is the villain. But I have not found out which section or component of the SMPS is gone. I guess that the output capacitor is dried up & making short circuit at the output. So, the machine was restarted or shut down by the SMPS. But I am not sure. Before opening the SMPS & replacing the components I want to know what is the actual problem or my diagnosis is right or wrong. Please help me as soon as possible as my holidays will be ended in one week. The SMPS is from CIL-ODYSSEY & the model no. is 300PA. It can handle 300W load(max.). It is a CELERON 1.8 GHz machine.
