Ok first off I am a Windows/Linux user, not a Mac.
We have just borrowed a Mac for a project. Looks like it had 9 on it originally and was upgraded to OS X. Now I wanted to have it access a share on our network using NIS. So I went in and told it which machine was the primary NIS and the domain name. After doing that I restarted and then when it came up to login window I typed the admin and passwd and then I get this techno colored wheel that just turns around and nothing else. It's as if it's trying to authenticate or gain access to something yet it can't.
So I am now dead in the water and hating Mac (or my lack of know how) even more.
Please any suggestions would help.
