Hi,

Please critique my site. And don't be easy on me! I really would like some constructive crticism, no matter how small of a detail it is.

The areas I would like reviewed on are:

- How can I make the site more visually appealing?
- What can I do to my forums to help bring people in and want to stay there?
- Is my ad placement optimal, or can that be improved?

http://www.antisource.com/

Thanks!
Rick

Congrad's to a job well done. Rarely do I see such nice work in the site review forums. I think you have a beautiful site on your hands.

Some suggestions:

- Eye tracking studies tell us that english speaking visitors tend to look at the top left corner when first landing on a site. I would move the blurb "The All Inclusive Antivirus Resource Defending users and administrators against the
threat of viruses, worms, trojans, spam, and spyware" a few notches over to the left, of the center. The center is also a great place to put it.

- I only see one ad on the site which is placed in visible spot. I think that you can generate more revenue by integrating contextual ads such as AdSense, or the many other programs that exist.

- Follow the Daniweb model. Notice the placement and positioning of ads. For example, on this page - I am forced to scan ads when scrolling from your post, to the reply form.

- Sell static text links

- Try to entice industry specialists to moderate forums. If the advice given to people is of quality, peope are likely to join and revisit.

Just some of my thoughts.

I actually do have adsense running on the site - check out one of the articles, and scroll down to the end of it, but before the comments section. I found that it improved my CTR incredibly with it at this position - I tried putting adsense on a left block prior to the GFI ad, but it rarely got any attention.

Thanks for the compliments on the site. Do you think it is too wordy? Someone mentioned to me before that they thought it needed more graphics and there was just too much on one page... but given the nature of the content, it is hard to thin it out and put in pictures. On my next template revision I will try and space it out a little better...
