Fireworks problem

When I run Fireworks, the CPU Usage goes to 100% and stays there for a while, making the computer slow. Fireworks' process called 'Fireworks' has a number of 90 to about 93 under 'CPU'. This hasn't been happening before, it's been like this since a few days ago.
I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling Fireworks, and still no luck. I have 384MB RAM and this hasn't been a problem.
