Internet Explorer unable to redirect website!

I am using IE 5.5 and had unable to redirect to another website unless I actually typed in the exact URL. The web page always appeared to be blank if I go to a website that will automatically redirect by itself. anybody can help me?

MMMM maye upgrade to ie 6 or get mozilla or opera
