I wanted a full version to load on another computer,the instructions on that site seemed like it was what i was looking for ,until it finished then told me, "nowto go to windows upsate and install ie6 .nothing in the downloads folder i created .

sorry mate youre a bit incoherent. do you mean it wasnt IE6. if so im sorry i used to use that site when i first got xp to help me find out more about it. i never had any problems with that site before if i knew that was gonna happen i never would have recommended it.

just had a look at the site and wondered if you missed this

How to download the full IE6 SP1...

First of all you will need to visit the Microsoft website and get the IE6 SP1 installer
using this link: ie6setup.exe (479kb)

Did all that ,downloaded ,I thought it would put it in that folder i created and put that file in ,C:\Downloads ,not there I don't know where it went .when i clicked that i wanted it for win98 it wouldn't download ,so i checked off winxp and it downloaded something ,but it must have been a ghost ,gone .

I am unable to connect to the internet by internet explorer. I can go through Mozilla and get on . any ideas for solving my problem .:eek:

Check to see if your default connection setting in the browser is the one you actually use. You could have two files.

Check to see if it is set to actually dial the phone in the internet connection file, not just Outlook's setting.
