wired and wireless simulateous connection

I have a LAN internet connnection and i have a
friend with a laptop with a wireless network card. can we buy a
wirless pci network card to add to the pc to share the internet connection eventhough its a seperate network. another words can u be part of two networks.

FROM INTERNET ---> INTO [Modem] ---> OUT [Modem]---> INTO [PC (NIC1) OUT PC (NIC2)] ---> INTO [Wireless base station (access point)] ---> OUT (wirelessly) [Wireless base station] ---> INTO [Laptop w/ wireless NIC]

Equipment: (in addition to your 1 PC NIC and 1 Wireless Laptop NIC)
1 PC Network Interface Cards (NIC)
1 Wireless base station
2 Ethernet Cables

the network out of the pc i was thinking to make a wirerless ad-hoc connection to connect to the laptop
