Garbled text in mail

Hi,

Have got 1 user who from this morning is experiencing problems with mail. The machine is running 10.3.9 and Mail was working friday. The body of the email regardless of sender is garbled. wierd font is displayed along with random digits and letters.

Any help would be most apreciated.

This sort of thing generally happens in web pages when the text encoding is not set properly in the brower's preferences. The encoding refers to the default language and it's respective font support. Check the default font and encoding in mail preferences, as well as for the system.

Thanks for the reply,

I have the problem sorted as from an hour ago. I did a few searches and found an article which suggested I change the viewing options to plain text. Edited the com.apple.mail pref and this sorted it!
