ImgFree.net - Free Image Host / Photo Albums

Hi guys,

Please review my new site, imgfree.net.

I've spent a fair amount of time on it, because I don't want people to have the impression it's another "free script" site.

The whole thing's custom written in c#/asp.net/tsql and uses IISRewrite.

I've tried to make it more user-oriented, by adding photo albums for members, avoiding pop-up advertising and resizing huge images (I hate downloading 5 megapixel photos ....).

Looking forward to some feedback!

Ben

Hi guys,

I've completed a new feature for ImgFree, one that's being very well received.

You can now integrate it on your forums (tested with phpbb, ipb, smf).

This gives your users the ability to upload images without really leaving your forum. It creates an additional button with the post options, 'UPLOAD IMAGE' which launches a pop-up with the upload form.

Other new features specific to the forum integration include
- thumbnails
- the option to not resize
- additional code generated including displaying the thumb and linking to the large

There's an official phpBB mod in development for it, and you can get instructions for implementing it here: http://www.imgfree.net/integrate

Enjoy

Hi splink, you're most welcome to.

There's a module I've written for ImgFree that lets forums integrate it directly with their post options as an 'upload image' button.

They might be interested in that: http://www.imgfree.net/integrate

I looked at it. I even signed up for it. I won't be recommending it to anyone though because of 9 smilie type gifs, that I uploaded, I can only find this one. All the uploaded images said that they uploaded successfullyhttp://quick.imgfree.net/images/1826.jpg
Free Image Hosting He used to scratch himself. I saw this
Valid image types are JPG, JPEG, TIF, TIFF, GIF, BMP and PNG only.
but it doesn't say that gif images cease to move. Also it requires that you add a caption or title with each pic which can become a real chore if you have made a seperate album for the church picnic already.

Now here is the same pic hosted somewhere else. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...ters/ani29.gif Most of the people that I would have referred need to upload smilies and other small gifs which are largely animated. Unless I am missing something huge here, I am greatly disappointed. This would have been a big boon for many of the people I serve on a messageboard support forum.
