I bought an external hard drive for my music. But it seems that occasionally when I take my laptop somewhere and then come back Itunes says "original file could not be found." They are easy enough to find again...provided I do it SONG BY SONG...which is very annoying. Is there any way to do a batch update when Itunes seems unable to locate the path?
I'm certain that there is an AppleScript for this.

I dunno. this should be less of a pain; have you tried deleting the iTunes library database and xml files from the Music/iTunes folder/ and then going into iTunes and under File - Add to Library and pick the folders your music is in? That should work, and should be quicker, providing you don't have songs scattered all over the place. Of course if you have them scattered you might leave out some songs if you dont' remember where you put them.
Of course if there's a nice applescript that does it all for you..Rock on.
