When I click on Internet Explorer it will open the home page, after that if I click on any other link it will show the following message, and it will shut down

“Microsoft Internet Explorer�
Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a result, the page may not display correctly.

What does this message mean and how should I correct this.

My internet connection takes long time to open a page, (minimum 45 to 60 seconds) and more over it is not as speed as it use to be in the beginning.

What is the reason for this and how to correct it.

I am using windows 98 version
Internet speed : 256 kbps
