I am not sure if you are looking for feedback on the design, content or if you need help with a particular element.
The design is not bad at all it looks current with most tech looking sites out there. I am not sure I really got the purpose of the site unless it is a tech community site.
I would be happy to give you a more detailed critique if that is what you are after but maybe give some more details on what you are looking for and what the purpose of the site is...

Well a little feedback. I think you did good, especially since this is your first website. Stil some little things, like i think it'd be better if you had the same theme/layout on the different pages of your site. Also, your title/logo doesn't blend in well on some of the other pages (like on the forum page).

Hi Handeyman
Designwise it's good for a first.
However... For a site to be popular, it needs to provide something that other sites don't...
e.g. Daniweb is now popular because it has all sorts of experts for different technology areas.
With a tech site, there are hundreds and thousands of them. So if you really want it to be a success, you have to provide exclusive content of such quantity and quality that it makes your site worth visiting.
That could take many forms.
It could be your opinion of tech news - that makes it more of a blog style site, and the site becomes based around your personality.
It could be technical support in a specialised area - something not too many people know about that you just happen to have a good knowledge of.
With so many big companies competing for the keywords you want with you tech site, you really have to specialise to get good SEO results. If you take Daniweb as an example, it grew as a specialised computer technical support forum (I think) and then diversified into all aspects of IT.
Another option is writing 'how tos' - useful information to people who are beginning in an area where you have knowledge.
In short, you need to make yourself different from the 'run of the mill' tech site. Just like getting a job really - you need to distinguish yourself from the competition.
Best of luck with your site,
Dave
