OEM Software

There is probably a post somewhere out there about this, but what is the general rule on OEM software? I know you don't get the packaging and printed manuals, but are software updates, such as Microsoft updating Windows XP, still available? Any insight that anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

OEM software is intended for use by resellers. It is exactly the same as the regular retail software short of the packaging and other materials.

Ok. So if I were to buy it and use it on my machine, would I get the same support from microsoft as if I purchased the - for lack of a better word - "normal" version?
