I want to know how important it is for some of these to be in the exceptions list of my firewall. One I am not even sure what it is (C:\Program Files\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exe). Here is the list of exceptions I just found in the list.
avginet.exe
bonjour
file and printer sharing- off
internet explorer
itune
microsoft directplay voice test
remote assistance
remote desktop
run a DLL as an App
UPnP framework
Windows Media Player
Yahoo!FT Server
Yahoo!Messenger
Antec P180 special edition, Epox 9NPA+ Ultra, AMD 64 3700+ San Diego with Zalman 7000, 2GB Corsair PC3200, Gigabyte GV--NX66T128VP, Fortron Blue Storm 500 watt,Seagate Sata 250gb, Audigy 2 ZS Gamer, Altec Lansing ADA995 5.1 THX, Digital Doc 5+, Plextor 712A, BenQ LS DW1655, Canopus ADVC50 capture card,XP Pro SP2

I'd advise against using XP firewall. It protects (barely) incoming connections ONLY. Basically XP firewalls are a malware's dream.

Yeah. Try ZoneAlarm. And under all circumstances, stay away from Norton Firewall
