Computer reboots when cd is inserted

The orginal problem was that the computer would shut down whenever a cd (software) was inserted into the CD-ROM. The system was wiped, 2000 reinstalled, updates, MS Office, Word Perfect, Onstream (back-up) and then NAV 05 with updates and a scan. A CD was inserted, and it rebooted. It almost gets to the desktop and then reboots again. It will continue doing that until the CD is removed. Then it will continue normally. I'm confused

Try changing the IDE Cable, dont use one cable for both HDD and CD-Rom.
Put ur HDD in Primary Master and CD-Rom in Secondary Master
