Client is looking for a senior software developer to join our technology team. This is a high-octane, high-profile, high-paying job for someone who:

* Has at least 6 years of experience developing internet applications
* Has an extremely solid knowledge of OO Perl and OO PHP
* Knows Linux system administration, GNU utilities, and RPM management inside and out
* Is proficient in SQL, including experience with queries, normalized and denormalized design, stored procedures/triggers, and using SQL in scripting languages (e.g. DBD: in Perl)
* Is completely comfortable with all aspects of Unix and FOSS usage
* Understands hosted applications including networking design and technologies (switches, routers, load balancers, etc.)
* Has developed and managed complex server systems that serve high-volume sites
* Has been responsible for source management, software installation, and environment control (dev, qa, prod) for server applications
* Is productive and prolific either in a team, or solo
* Has great written and verbal communication skills
* Has lots of hard-earned (and correct) ideas about how to develop web applications the right way
* Enjoys obsessing about technical challenges
* Wants to learn cool technical stuff
* Wants to teach other people about cool technical stuff

This engineer will work full-time in the San Francisco office and report directly to the VP of Engineering.

Must be local to San Francisco
