Hi

I just completed my first website ever and I did it for a client who didn't know that it was the first website I ever made. I would like to know :
1. What are the major flaws of the website if any?
2. Was I right to charge 200$ or should I have charged more/less?
3. Do you think I have potential as a webdesigner- should I become serious about designing?

The website is currently located at: (http://www.clearview-design.ag2.us/www/project-dfs)

Thanks in advance,
Joseph

I think the site looks nice from the initial view. One thing that I did notice is that the contact us page does not have a correct email contact for the webmaster. It could be that you are not putting that up at this time but it was something that I noticed fairly quickly. I like the bar that tells the user where there are in the site. It does not look like the amount you charged for the site was bad. I think that was a good buy for the company owner.

Yes, it appears to be down.

*update* Looks as if the thread is a couple months old. Guess it was a temp portfolio piece.

Hi Dani. hey everyone.

Yes it has been a while since I last reponded to comments on this thread.
Dani is correct in guessing that the link was temporary. However, I entirely reworked the site and put it online about 3 months ago. The URL of the site is http://www.dcookfinancialservices.com

Note that this design is not neccessarily better then the previous one. I actually dislike the color scheme of the current design. I just felt that this design looked slightly more proffesional, was easier to navigate, and was much more scalable then the previous design.

A few suggestions...

1) Validate your css at http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
Throws up a heck of alot of problems.

2) Do you think you are using too much div? Going to cause alot of problems for older browsers. search google about something some people call "divitis". I think you just have a minor case of it. If you need help finding the article, PM me or reply.

3) Um... well work on those two things first. More stuff later.
