I am having the about:blank error when I close Internet Explorer. It gives me the message about sending a report or don't send a report.
I have McAfee Internet Suite 2006, Spybot, Hijack This, and I can't seem to get rid of it. I have seen some ads for software to claim they are the only ones that can fix this problem and to order it online. Frankly, it is difficult to trust any of these. I don't know if it is another scam. I was going to go to the store to buy something.
Do you have any suggestions? I have seen some of the fixes posted, but I wasn't sure if I should try those directions or if I need to post my Hijack This log.
I would appreciate any help. This is really annoying and I would like to string these people by their fingers if they ever catch who makes these viruses/hijackers, etc.

Download CCleaner and install it. Run it, click "Options" button and here go to "Advanced" tab and uncheck the option "Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 48 hours". Click OK to exit from the Options. Finally click "Run Cleaner" and click "OK" to continue cleaning.
Which Operating System are you using? If its Windows XP, then download Ewido and install it. Then run it, next in the main screen, click "Update" and click "Start Update". After the update process, click on the "Scanner" button in the left menu, then click on the "Complete System Scan" button.
If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. You can select "Clean" and check the boxes "Perform action with all infections" and "Create encrypted backup" before clicking on OK. When the scan finishes, click on "Save Report". This will create a text file.
Next, download HijackThis and unzip it to dedicated folder (like C:\HijackThisFolder\hijackthis.exe). Run it and click the button Do a System scan and save log file. HijackThis will perform a scan and saves the log file as hijackthis.log in the same folder where it is installed and it also opens the file automatically. Copy the entire contents of the file and post it here.

I ran Hijack this again. I "fixed" the six entries. The about:blank has not gone away. It is still giving me the blank page and about:blank error. I still see the same entries I "fixed" in the new log. It is as follows:

Download CWShredder, AboutBuster.
Next, reboot to Safe Mode.
Run CWShredder and click "Fix->". After it finishes, run AboutBuster and click "Begin Removal" and allow it to complete the process.
Next, reboot back to Normal Mode. Download WinPFind.ZIP and completely extract it to a folder. Then run WinPFind.exe and click "Start Scan". When the scan completes, click "Copy to Clipboard" button to copy the log it gives, and please post it here along with a new HijackThis log.

I realize one reason that the files may not have deleted is that I access the internet using my DSL line through SBC Yahoo. If I delete those files, will that cause my DSL line to not work?

I have tried to boot my computer in safe mode, and it doesn't work. It just keeps asking me if it is the hard drive, CD-ROM or removable device. Holding F8 is not working. I have arrowed it down to hard drive and hit enter and it still doesn't work. I have tried doing nothing. Any suggestions?
