Deleted /home

Login as the root whose home directory should be /root.
Recreate yourself through "Users and Groups" control gizmo in KDE or Gnome.
Sorry but you lost all of your /home/* data including your personal profile and items.
Unix (and therefore Linux), historically, has given a lot of power to the root. That is why Ubuntu steers people to use the `sudo` approach off the menu system. It's not perfect but it adds more control/safety over system administration functions.
Hard lesson .. deepest sympathies.

There's no place called home.
