Coronado Software is currently conducting a search for a lead IBM DB2 UDB database administrator with a minimum of 5 years of DB2 / UDB production database support experience. Experience with DB2 UDB 8.x and DPF experience is required. A background with Informatica is helpful.

As lead DBA, candidate will be responsible for the care and management of a large scale DB2 UDB 8.x environment. Candidate will be responsible for the performance/tuning of the DB2 UDB database along with backup/restore best practices, documentation of procedures, and interaction with the ETL and BI team.

The ideal candidate must have experience with DB2 UDB installation, configuration, setup and maintenance on a Linux platform preferred(experience in Unix or AIX ok).

Other responsibilities/requirements:

Hands on database engineering and architecture of data marts

Data Warehousing Background

Large scale database engineering

Work with data modelers to convert logical designs to physical designs. Work closely with BI developers to optimize access with tools such as Business objects, and Hyperion. Work closely with Informatica ETL developers to optimize load patterns, updates, and deletes.

Establish (or write) load scripts for DB2 UDB loaders if necessary

Must have a firm understanding of I/O performance, disk layout and impact of data access across I/O channels.

Candidate must be willing to travel at least 75% of the time. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
