i am new in this area anyone pls suggest from where i have to start to develop the web , in which langauge, on which platform etc.etc.

dear JTO,

no need to worry about it. first of all you should browse on sites. you will get a clear picture on it. at the same time start learning "photoshop" 'dreamweaver" "flash" and fireworks.

next you start designing site by taking example templates. all those things take 1 month. after that you are a prof. designer.

i sugg. you read this book "Code Complete" it is very good book. you can understand what is s/w how easy it is?

hello,
i just want to develop simply a site which takes some data from table and view some sort of information , graphs etc. to my office intranet , for this can i make a web server with data base server ?

so pls help from where i have to start

for web designing use dreamwearver bible. in india IDG books are releasing it.

for code complete it is from microsoft press W.P.Publishers & distributors (p) ltd, Author Steve McConnell

I recommend to use visual studio.net and to write on c#. this is profesional tool.
