We need more information.

What was the program? Do you think it is spyware related? If so have you scanned with Anti-Spyware software? If you know for a fact that it is spyware post a hijackthis log in the spyware removal forums.

Does it say Messenger Service on the top of the window by any chance? If it does you're in great risk because you don't have your firewall on and you're using Windows XP Service Pack 1.

Click Start, Run and execute ncpa.cpl. Right click on your Local Area Connection choose Properties go to Advanced and put a check mark in Protect My Computer... .

Apply the settings and do the same for all the connections in this window.

If I was right and you were on the internet without the firewall on I would run next a virus scan. You can go here to install a free antivirus:http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Vir...ml?tag=lst-0-2

I would also download and install Service Pack 2 from here:
