Restoring dead file?

Ok well I have this problem see, my computer crashed a while back, and to gain access I put my harddrives on another computer, but the computer changed all the file names in order to avoid confusion between the same name files. One of which was My Documents folder which is now a file named "DOCUMEN~1" what can I do to restor this file, or is it gone for good
