A few days ago i got a Compaq Presario 1277 laptop from a neighbor of mine to get some spyware off of it for her. I spent a couple hours and got rid of it then put it away for the night. It may or may not have been plugged in I am not sure. I went to turn it on today to finish up and make sure i got rid of everything but it won't turn on. The battery was shot when I got it so I had to just use the AC. The AC power light on the laptop is on so i know it registers a connection but it won't turn on. The laptop just sits there when I try to turn it on. Not even the power light comes on. A little help would really be appreciated. I would rather not have to pay my neighbor as compensation.

I am also having the same problem. If I let it set for a few days it will power up for a few minutes and then shut off.
