The best "turn your pc into a mac" software available
![]() |
Just for the record, i am not a mac fanby, nor a microsoft fanboy, or a linux fanboy. I like them all and i think they all have their pros/cons.
Anyways i have a fun thing to try for the day. I've downloaded many packages/programs etc that try and turn your pc into a mac interface (i love the look, but i cant buy a mac yet) , but I've never been completly satisfied beacuse everyone i try seems to still let me know its just masking a windows interface, and it doesnt do it that well.
However, i was recently browsing on http://www.downloadsquad.com/ and i found a link to a new program that is a complete transformation for your windows comuter to a mac interface, with no settings tweaking from your part. It actually works. From boot screen, to log in screen, to the os, you can have the look and functionality of the mac interface. You can use a live web based version of it to see what it will do to your computer from its website: http://osx.portraitofakite.com/ You can also find the a link to download the files there too.
Let me know what you all think of it

If it's the fluff you're after then I guess that is probably right up your street.
U could do something similar with this...

Although like you say it might not be as good. Personally, I just find these little window hacks annoying and sluggish.
But I also like things being pretty and look streamlined (one of the reasons why I'm learning flash), so I can see where you're coming from.

Yeah it's neat piece of software, but like all of them it eats up system resources. I normally prefer simple GUIs though, in order to save the processing power for the more productive things. Perhaps that explains why I use nothing but sawfish in fedora and freeBSD. But I guess if you are into the bells and whistles, this thing could be useful
