Hi,
I think I lost my last post.
It is in regards to losing my sound all of a sudden. I am running windows xp and it just wouldn't do any sounds.
I did some troubleshooting and I eventually got this error code.
I did a Direct Sound Test and it came up with : Failure at step 19 user verificaton of softwared HRESULT 0.x00000000 error code.
I have gone on the net but what I see isn't making sense to me. I have tried to restore many times as well as going through all the usual easy troubleshooting.
I have also tried to uninstall windows media player through add and remove but it wasn't there. I tried through program files and it wouldn't go from there either.
Can someone help me? PLEASE !!!!!

Open volume control and check to see if it is set to 'Mute'.
To do this Start>Control Panel>Sounds and audio devices
