Does anyone know a way or program to work through this...I am under the assumption that outlook is a PART OF xp....so I dont know where to go from here?

Your Outlook data file might be too big. Delete any large mail and unnecessary mail and try again. You can also verify the size of your Inbox by right clicking the folder and going to properties.
