Both myself and the other real estate client that this seo expert has..we both fell from the serps and only have our forum pages still indexed by google.

I myself had over 2600 pages indexed by google and now only show I believe around 400 from my forum. It is strange that both real estate clients that use seo guy fell from the serps. It has been suggested by others that one possible reason for this is the fact that we both use seo guy to buy links from and that he put both of us on the same links in the same IP block.

When you have say link Z you purchase and then not only are you put on link Z but also another client is put on link Z and these two link together as well from a themed nature then if reported or google sees it ..it has been suggested by others that it can penalize you.

The only common factors that myself and this other real estate client of seo guy and I had were.

1. we both purchase links from Seo Guy

2. We are both on the same IP block with some of those purchased links

3. We both our linked together in our real estate sites with a sitewide real estate relocation referral group.( which none of the other referral group members have suffered a loss in serps )

4. We both have recepical links back to seo guy and his real estate forum.

So the only conclusion that I have come to and that has been suggested by others that know a great deal more then I do ..is that the links on the same IP block that both the other realtor and myself are on was the cause of being penalized.

If that was the case there would be no reason to get listings in DMOZ and all other directories. The IP block thing is this... if you have 500 backlinks,and 450 of them from the same IP block, google is smart enought to know that the liks are all coming from the same place so 450 of them aren't weighted as high. If you have 500 backlinks from different IP blocks and your competitor has links from all the same places, it makes no difference for you. In fact it may even raise relevence if your competitor's site has similar theme as yours. If you have a ton of sites with all the same exact links an nothing orignal, then it looks like a link farm and G may sniff it out. This is not the case in your case. You are not relying on only link farm links. You are buying likns from related sites which is good practice. Other related sites are doing the same thing.

regardless, no incoming link can hurt your site except by ranking your for a term you where not gunning for (search google for "miserable failure" to see what I mean there).

In all honesty Atlanta Realty, I think your site fell victim to Google, not your SEO in this instance. If I where you, especially after admitting you really don't know what is up and you are going off of a friend's advice as to "maybe" why you may have lost ground on the SERPs, I would stop slandering your SEO in so many public forums. It is just simply unprofessional. EVEN IF you did get screwed, which I am not yet conviced that you did, what SEO is going to want to take you on as a client now after seeing all this stuff you have been posting on forums that a lot of us frequent? I would work on a strategy to get back in the SERPs instead of slamming your SEO based on a friend's idea of why you possibly lost ground.

Tell you what, atlanta realtor, how about you test your theory, Go out and buy as MANY high PR links as you can find on the same IP blocks, and point them at my site, then report the purchased links to google and ask them to ban me. Then we will see if it is the links that you purchased from me (And stiffed me $2000 for) is what got your site in trouble. Shoot in fact take that $2000 you never paid and spend that too, man I am ever going to be in trouble when all those one way links with my anchor text hit my site, that I dont link back to. You better get on it! Hey in fact, check all the backlinks you used to have that you had me arrange, if their is a link spot there, buy em for me. Man then I'll be sorry!

The problem with guys like you, is you know absolutely nothing about SEO or search engines, then you go and do something to your site that gets you in trouble and you look for someone else to blame.

So instead of trying to post at places that clearly know me and know your full of it, go buy me all these links that supposedly got you banned and prove your POINT! Otherwise shut up about and take your lumps like everyone else you whack job!

you should try that experiment on me too. Please post as many links as possible to my site and try to get me banned that way.

You say that you can beat a high pr site in the rankings by having lots of back links from lower pr sites.

But is it not the backlinks that give you high pr?

Or is it only high pr backlinks that give you high pr, and lots of backlinks (whether high or low pr) help with better ranking (assuming keywords used in link text).

Let do an exercise to see the difference between link pop and PR.

Let's say
Highrankings = diabetes
PR = tooth decay
links = candy

Because of eating candy, person A got tooth decay. True. Because of eating candy, person A got diabetes. True. Therefore diabetes is the result of tooth decay. False.

Let's change the words and re-read that sentence.
Because of links, person A got PR. True. Because of links, person A got Highrankings. True. Therefore Highrankings is the result of PR. False.


Let's try again by separating the three items in question into 2 categories.

Category One = cause
Category Two = effect

Links = cause
PR = effect
High rankings = effect

Links causes 2 things to happen. Neither thing that happens directly causes the other to happen.

Lets start it this way. As stated there are common factors between myself and the other Seo Guys real estate client. Since we both were clients and we both got penalized..the problems is associated with one of those factors.

Common Factor Layouts.

A= Realtor #1 in real estate linking group

B=Realtor # 2 in real estate linking group

C= Realtor #3 in real estate linking group

D= Seo Guy Client in real estate linking group

E= Seo Guy Client in real estate linking group

Ok now A,B,C,D,E all have themed sitewide links to eachother with no other common factors other then the websites being themed and belonging to real estate agents.

D and E both use seo guy to purchase links from and handle the seo. We both have links back to seo guys website and real estate forum.

Now the common factors that both D and E have in common are.

1. We purchase links from seo guy. examples of those links that both D and E have together that were purchased from seo guy.

Text advertising is NOT against googles Tos but when it is done to try and manipulate the serps it is..All it takes is for someone to file a report and show just cause why it is meant to manipulate and google will take action as I believe they have in relation to websites D and E.

This in my opinion could have been avoided if the so called seo expert didnt enterlink websites D and E so closely togther with the purchased links..BUT with the linking structure that was used by this seo expert ( which has been told to me by a few others was a Rookie Mistake ) and the fact that he admited to google he was selling PR maybe these websites will live,,but then again with my 11 page report to google detailing every facet of the website and my relationship to Seo Guy..maybe Not

Buy all the links that were pointing at you and point them at him, should have the same effect no?

Your site can't be banned for off-page factors. If you could, every one of my competitors would be banned.
