I have just upgraded my PC. I have an ASUS A8V Deluxe motherboard and an AMD 64 3700+. The problem is with my hard drive (SATA2 western digital 250Gb). When I first booted up it didnt recognise the hard drive at all. I have solved that problem but now when I come to install windows XP on it, after loading all the files from the CD it says installation unable to continue, no hard drive detected. Any ideas how to solve this problem?
You need the SATA drivers provided with the mobo. During setup when it prompts you tp "Press F6 to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver", press F6, pop the driver floppy (it should be in a floppy) and follow the onscreen instructions. You'll now be able to install Windows as usual.
