Hi, I am trying to setup a dedicated game server for about 150000 players to start of with on the internet and then I hope that about 300000 players will start playing it. I have done some research and caluclations. But need to find some more information on it. I have caluclated about 50kp per player upsteam which works out to be +- 9375mbits upsteam and. 256mb of ram per 4 players which will work out to be about 19200000mb.
What server system or other requirements can you surguest?

you are looking at some heavy duty clusters. A cluster is just a bunch of servers hooked up together, and they have the same specs. that is a huge number, what game are we talking here?
The specs would be go something like this:
16 xeon processors, with 32GB of RAM. and you'd have, i don't know, 10,000 servers clustered together. Sounds like a multimillion dollar project.
