hi
i have HP pavilion 8612. its a P3. i have 40gb HD and (64+128)mb RAM.I have installed Win XP on it.
now the problem is that whenever i connect to the internet my system hangs.no matter what i do(i have norton 2006 with complete updates which has resolved some virus problems on my system).but still there is no improvement.
i then installed win 98 that came alongwith my system.it worked very well and my system speed was better than in XP.but when i connected to internet it gave me the same problem.
also this hang problem increases when i start limewire.
now i've almost stopped surfing on my PC 'coz its a very frustrating thing when after every 5 minutes u have 2 restart ur PC.
a local vendor told me that i've problem in my RAM n i should get it changed.but i thought that if RAM is problematic then why does system hangs only when connected to net.so i thought of consulting the forum.
it would b appreciable if anyone could help me on this.
(i think i have provided all the relevant information abt my PC)
