Avi Preview - Trojan - HiJackThis Log

Hi all,

Back again with another problem. I downloaded avi preview. While downloading MCafee flashed up saying the file was a trojan (and like Mcafee couldnt do anything about it). I now have an exe file that is always in use when i try and delete it. I have ran ad-aware, ewido and spybot.

Any help would be appreciated. Please see log below

The exe file was my c:\temp folder (where i download everything before moving or installing it). I have ran my system restore and this seems to have removed the exe file. I have read on another site that the avipreview is causing this on a lot of people (as its not actually the real avi preview).

Unfortunately, infected downloads aren't uncommon at all, which is why it's recommended that you only downloaded from reputable, trusted sites.

I'm glad you were able to find and remove the beast, though. Also- the HJT log you posted is clean, so it may be that the infection hadn't really gone "full-blown" yet.
