Website: http://gridironfans.com/

Background: I started this site back in July 2004 and now am on "version 3.0" of the site. It originally was just a stock phpbb board with hardly any mods [ Archive.org's cache of the first board ] and let's just say it was an eyesore. In March 2005 I started looking to add some sort of portal to the site and a friend who was helping with coding behind the scenes (I was so limited with my knowledge I needed someone to setup the site) installed Integramod. Let's just say that Integramod was an unmitigated disaster with numerous bugs that frustrated members and almost killed the site.

This summer we finally switched to using a stock phpbb board and modding a wordpress blog to be our portal. The site is now almost complete, with just some minor touches left to do.

Description: GridironFans.com is a uncensored forum for NFL football discussion. I am a big believer in letting people speak their minds and our site caters to people who are frustrated with other sites who restrict them.

Features: Our main feature on the site is our NFL news. We use our portal to let people find the NFL news they want. People can find news by conference, division, team and more. We also have numerous "fun" aspects for members to enjoy, like the Fantasy Sports and Bookmakers mods which along with the Cash mod lets users wager "cash" on actual sporting events.

Design: We are going after a "less is more" feel on the site. When we had the Integramod portal we got numerous complaints that the site was too cluttered and hard to navigate. Our skin is based off of our portal page and the main goal is to have a site that is not bogged down with too many images and SQL queries.

Mods Installed On Site:
I'd love to get some feedback on my site, thanks in advance!

Feel of your forum is very dry, in other words not very attractive. Try putting some picture of "games" .... give it more sporty look.
