Hello all,

My computer has recently been infected with some spyware, and I have cleaned out whatever I could with ewido, ad-aware, and spybot, but I still get popups in firefox (which occur whenever I open a new tab, and are usually for a product called Drive Cleaner) and IE (which seem to occur randomly). Subsequent scans with Spybot recurrently find Look2Me-related files, and a file called guard.tmp keeps reappearing in my \windows\system32 directory. I have downloaded l2mfix; here is its log, along with that of HJT:

I apologize if a similar problem has already been posted...I am becoming somewhat frustrated with trying to solve this problem any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Update: I installed a program called Prevx1 (which can be found at www.prevx.com) and scanned my computer with it...it found and quarantined several files in my \windows\system32 directory (as well as some subdirectories therein) and hey presto!--no more popups!

To anyone reading this thread, I highly recommend that program; despite its questionable-looking website, it found malware that even the programs mentioned in the first post missed!

Edit: However, it did also complain about xvid.dll, which (as far as I know) is harmless...but at least it seems to have fixed my problem.
