HI, I'm new to the group and have gone thru past threads, implimented offered suggestions and still am stumped.
I was running IE5.5 under Win98 (AMD 400mhz w/ 104 megs ram) on a DSL connection. I upgraded to 6.0 yesterday to try and solve the problem, but it didn't work. I've used SpyBot (no problems), I scanned for viruses (none), I only have Systray and Explorer working in the background, I cleaned my registry, defragged my drives and even rechecked my download speed (750+kbps). Since I use Java Script on my site, I downloaded the latest Sun plug-in and I double checked to make sure the there are no "post-check directives" in my site's header. I also unchecked the Enable Third Party Browser Extensions box. I use this computer to double check my website performance for MSIE users (the site changes weekly), so switching browsers is not really an option. (http://www.countgore.com/dungeon.htm)
Here's the problem: When I first load the page it stops loading graphics with 4 to 5 left and the progress bars stalls. When I hit "Reload" it reloads with a few less graphics and when I try to get a "direct form servier reload" using the control key and Reload, it stalls out with more than 20 graphics unloaded. If I hit Home, the program locks up for a minute or two and eventually does load my Yahoo home page, but only partially.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
