UDL Folder - wtf?

Earlier today, my PC slowed to a halt, forcing me to manually restart it... after which I heard some worrying noises that sounded like a CD or hard drive forcing a disc to keep spinning if it got stuck.. what's more is that I get the same effect when any of my scanners scan a folder named UDL, in Application Data.

Should I treat this as bad stuff and delete it, or do I need it, or should I wait and see?

The folders in UDL are all named W(blank)00(then 4 more nums/letters). In each of these folders there are two files one called IMAGE000.EFF and the other called THUMB.USF.

In the UDL folder alongside the W_00____ files there are several files that have the same name as the folders. They are all PRINT Image Framer File's.

I hope I shoved enough info on ther for ya!

Thanks!
