AMD 2500+ dead or not?

Hey all,

Specs:
CPU-AMD 2500+ partcode AXDA2500KV4D
MOBO-Chaintech SKT600 VIA chipset
Memory- Kingston 512 333mhz

Problem:
No post, just installed CPU and it has a FSB of 333mhz. Mobo claims to support this but the jumper settings only go to 200mhz. Available combos are 100, 133, 166, and 200. None work... The recent CPU (Athlon 900mhz) would only run at 100mhz.

So is the CPU done for or should I invest in a new mobo? Help!

The processor frequency is double the listed jumper setting so 100 bus = 200 processor core. Setting the jumpers to 166 bus should give you the 333 core required for your processor. According to the manual for your board set jumper JP2 to close Pins 1 & 2 and JP3 to close Pins 2 & 3 to get 166 bus (333 core). You can find the manual for your board at http://www.chaintechusa.com/tw/eng/D....asp?DISNo=644
