Stay away from Omnis. More than two months ago, I transfered my domain name to them, but I still haven't been able to access or manage my website.
I've complained on several occasions through their "support" email, an experience that has been useless and very frustrating. I've received e-mails from at least three different people at Omnis and they all give me different (and contradictory) reasons for the problem - they did not get the info they required to authorize the transfer (which I mailed weeks ago), the domain is locked by someone else, my previous registrar needs to transfer it, etc, etc, etc. It's like trying to have a dialogue with someone who doesn't speak the same language.
I have asked them for a refund so that I can take my business elsewhere -to a company that actually understands what customer service is. Of course, they haven't replied yet, so my domain name (and my business) is still in limbo.

I lost my domain (which is my own name) because of Omnis!!!!!
After wasting too much time trying to get Omnis to transfer my domain (even though I paid them more than two months ago), I asked them to refund my money, so that I could take my domain name somewhere else.
Ever since the problem started, I've been checking at register.com and whois.com, to see what was the status of my domain. It always appeared as unavailable, so I was unable to renew it, but in the past few days, when I tried to see the owner of the domain, my name did not appear. It just said "website not found."
Yesterday, I checked again and, much to my shock, it appears that the domain (my own name) is registered by a company in Kenya, which is probably trying to make a buck at my expense - thanks to Omnis's incompetence.
I'm a journalist, in the middle of a book deal and urgently need to have my domain name back. I contacted Omnis again to demand they solve what they messed up and I got a message from James Fromm, vice president of operations, who said: "Unfortunately this situation is quite common."
Does anyone have advice on what can I do? (other than suing Omnis, which I'm already thinking of doing). Thanks in advance.

Contact ICANN. Maybe they can help. I'm guessing problems with Omnis are quite common, indeed. My brother-in-law had problems with them and ended up having to get a new domain, new stationary, new business cards... It was quite a hassle.
I was browsing around in the godaddy, and they keep telling you about a regristration charge, but no where on the site can I find out how much it is... which is why I decided not to go with them... if its that hard to find out how much all the charges are going to be, then its not worth my time.
left alone, waiting for things that never come...

Hi, I'm MajorHart - I have used godaddy.com for years and never paid more than 7.95 a year for my .us and .com domains, or used their "automatic rebilling." Now all of a sudden, I get a rebilling charge of $18.95 for one year for a domain I don't even have anymore.
I emailed support two days ago and so far haven't heard a thing. I'm thinking of filing a complaint with the arizona attorney general's office.
I alway renew manually and they could easily check the box requesting automatic renewal. Since I have 4 websites and about 9 names registered with them - I'm concerned that they might try to burn me on all of them.
