Hello. I keep getting this message in my taskbar that says

"Your computer is infected!"

Critical System Error!
System detected virus activities. They may cause critical system failure. Please, use antimalware software to clean and protect your system from parasite programs. Click here to get all available software." I got it when downloading a Media Codec.

Thanks!

This is my HJT log:

I've seen varients of this problem before. Try the following the following steps. it has been successful in the past for me.

In normal(non-safe) mode:

Download and extract the zip file to a location that you will be able to easily find them. SmitfraudFix can be found here: http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip

Download and install crap cleaner. http://ccleaner.com/

Turn system restore off. If you need directions, you can find them here: http://armentpau.com/archives/basic-...system-restore

Reboot your computer into safe mode with networking. Inside of safe mode with networking, do the following.

1) Run Crap Cleaner. This will erase all the temporary files floating around your system

2) Run Ewido. Go to Ewido.net and run the online scan. If you are a Mozilla Firefox user(and why not?) you will be asked to download a small portable scanner. Download and run the file.

3) Navigate to where smitfraudfix is located and run the file SmitfraudFix.cmd and follow the on screen instructions.
