Are you having problems accessing Documents and Settings on the old Hard Drive?
Try creating a tempory login account, that uses the same username, as the previous OS install had, and change the password to that just before you decomissioned the drive.
Hopefully this will allow you the access you require. Once the folders are copied onto your new drive, you can delete the temp account.
Nb. It may be that your new username is the same, so just change the password.
Hope this helps.
